HEPATITIS C IS A VIRAL INFECTION OF THE LIVER THAT CAN LEAD TO LIVER INFLAMMATION. 

Hepatitis C is an infectious disease of the liver.  There are many forms of the hepatitis C virus. The most common in the U.S. is type 1. None is more serious than any other, but they respond differently to treatment.

Conditions

Many people with Hepatitis have no symptoms. But you could notice these:
Jaundice (a condition that causes yellow eyes and skin, as well as dark urine)
Stomach pain
Loss of appetite
Nausea
Fatigue

Medications

DAKLINZA (daclatasvir) is a prescription medication that along with another medication, Sovaldi (sofosbuvir), is used for the treatment of genotype 3 chronic hepatitis C infection. Daklinza should not be taken alone. It works by reducing the active virus within the body. Usual therapy will last 12 weeks.

HARVONI (sofosbuvir+ ledipasvir) is a treatment for chronic hepatitis C infection as an all oral antiviral treatment regimen. It works by reducing the active virus within the body.

INCIVEK (telaprevir) is a treatment for chronic hepatitis C infection as a component of a combination antiviral treatment regimen. In combination with ribavirin and peginterferon alfa, it works by reducing the active virus within the body.

MODERIBA (Ribavirin) is a treatment for chronic hepatitis C infection and is a component of combination antiviral treatment regimens. It is used in combination with peginterferon alfa along with other new oral hepatitis C drugs. It is an antiviral drug, and works by reducing the active virus within the body.

OLYSIO (simeprevir) is a treatment for chronic hepatitis C infection as a component of a combination antiviral treatment regimen. In combination with ribavirin and peginterferon alfa, it works by reducing the active virus within the body.

PEG-INTRON is a treatment for chronic hepatitis C infection and is a component of combination antiviral treatment regimen. It is used in combination with ribivirin as well as other new oral hepatitis C drugs. It works in two manners, as an antiviral, as well as an immune system enhancer.

PEGASYS is a treatment for chronic hepatitis C infection and is a component of combination antiviral treatment regimen. It is used in combination with ribivirin as well as other new oral hepatitis C drugs. It works in two manners, as an antiviral, as well as an immune system enhancer.

RIBAVIRIN is a treatment for chronic hepatitis C infection and is a component of combination antiviral treatment regimens. It is used in combination with peginterferon alfa along with other new oral hepatitis C drugs. It is an antiviral drug, and works by reducing the active virus within the body.

SOVALDI (sofosbuvir) is a treatment for chronic hepatitis C infection as a component of a combination antiviral treatment regimen. In combination with ribavirin or ribavirin and peginterferon alfa, it works by reducing the active virus within the body.

TECHNIVIE™ (ombitasvir, paritaprevir and ritonavir tablets) is a prescription medication for the treatment of patients with genotype 4 chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection without cirrhosis. It is prescribed and given with another medication called Ribavirin.

VIEKIRA PAK (ombitasvir, paritaprevir, and ritonavir tablets; dasabuvir tablets), with or without ribavirin, is a treatment for chronic hepatitis C infection as an all oral antiviral treatment regimen. It works by reducing the active virus within the body.

ZEPATIER is a prescription medicine used with or without ribavirin to treat chronic (long-lasting) hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotypes 1 or 4 infection in adults.

Your treatment will depend on many things including what type of hepatitis C virus you have.  In the U.S., the most common type is genotype 1, followed by genotypes 2 and 3.  Genotypes 4,5, and 6 are very rare in the U.S. Your doctor will help you figure out what's right for you, based on your medical needs and insurance coverage.
